Seiki Systems Productivity Suite is an integrated package of modular software that can be utilised for planning, controlling and improving the output of any manufacturing company that uses CNC machine tools and manual processes.

Most companies operate some form of system to plan and load their manufacturing resources but few can actually determine with accuracy the status of current work-in-progress, available capacity, which active jobs are on time or late and the consequences of any delayed operations. To achieve this level of flexibility and control, real-time systems relating to machine and operation status provide a far more accurate picture of the current state of production on the shopfloor on which to base key planning decisions.

What does it do?

The Scheduler can interrogate any external data source such as ERP/MRP to establish the target planned completion dates and the number of parts required for each works order or this data can be entered manually. It schedules each works order according to scheduling rules, current work loads and available capacity and creates a synchronised work-to-list for each individual resource. This information is then distributed around the shopfloor and is made available to inform machine operators in real time, as such any planned changes are reflected immediately on the shopfloor.

As a job is actioned the operator has controlled access to manufacturing data, including DNC, and the SFDC facility feeds back in real-time to the Scheduler enabling the performance of the resource to be monitored. The information recorded (manufacturing intelligence) can be remotely viewed, analysed and used to update the Scheduler and other enterprise systems. As the system works in real time, it is possible to forecast future events and as such the delivery consequences to all jobs and capacity changes to all resources due to planned and unexpected changes can be viewed. Reliance upon physical observation of the shopfloor activity and word of mouth to determine production capacity for the allocation of work is eliminated.

Seiki's production management solution can provide a graphical representation of the workload across the entire facility, from quotation to customer order, component manufacture and assembly to dispatch and invoice. It will also highlight bottlenecks and enable the identification of available capacity that can be utilised to further improve productivity. The Seiki Productivity Suite can be installed in all types of manufatcuring facilities and data can be captured from any machine or resource taking into account multiple operations, shift working and skill levels without intensive manual intervention or interpretation. Technical data distribution within your hardwired or wireless LAN infrastructure can be employed for remote DNC and machine monitoring. The central data repository provides access to real-time job reporting, performance analysis and OEE results, on which to base production efficiency and continuous improvement strategies.
