Seiki DNC is available in two levels of software to ensure that we can provide a solution that is suitable for your requirements.

Option One - Direct DNC

Our Direct DNC solution meets the requirements of CNC users who require access to NC Programs without the need for a dedicated DNC terminal or PC sited next to the machine tool and is typically our lower cost solution due to the relatively small installation and hardware investment required. The system comprises of a single or multiple host PCs configured with local or virtual serial ports sufficient to support the machines installed with the host. Direct DNC uses the CNC screen to call programs to the machine tool, return edited programs and transfer other files, e.g. sub programs, tool offsets etc. from other directories. A log book is automatically generated in order to log the time and date of each transfer.

This is the simplest and most reliable way to transfer NC programs from your computer to your machines and disruptions in your workflow are a thing of the past.

Option Two - Networked DNC

Networked DNC is specifically suited to users that require a higher level shop floor communications system. As well as allowing operators to easily download NC part programs, the system also delivers all NC ASCII manufacturing data directly to the shop floor and can be used by machine operators to navigate for files on a remote server. The software can be configured to meet requirements specified in quality or operating standards to ensure complete compliance. Additional functionality includes the viewing, editing and manipulation of ASCII Text files (based on user access privileges), graphical status verification and a comprehensive audit trail log.

Control is another key feature of Networked DNC. The system offers 8 levels of user access control (with password protection) for file viewing, graphical file status and control - warning of and restricting access to unproven programs, and edited NC Program transfer control - all programs in a job folders can be automatically blocked until the returned NC Program is approved.

The DNC Manager toolkit includes the NC Editor, which enables NC programs to be easily compiled/edited. The Editor simultaneously displays files to enable quick line by line comparisons to be made. Proven blocks of code can be easily transferred to create new NC programs and a library facility provides the opportunity to store standard blocks of code for start up, tool changes, etc. ready for rapid input.
